  • Recovery from sports activity
  • Cardiovascular efficiency
  • Elimination of metabolic wastes
  • Relaxation and restful sleep
  • Increased production of endorphins
  • Increased circulation
  • Increased range of motion & flexibility

Types of Massage:

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deeper pressure on the contracted areas. Deep tissue massage helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue and fascial/muscular adhesions. In doing so range of motion is increased and lymphatic and circulatory flow is restored to the affected area. Deep tissue massage is both corrective and therapeutic.

Sports Massage
Sports Massage is a special form of massage used before and/or after athletic events. The purpose of pre-event sports massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance by draining away fatigue, reducing muscle tension, and promoting flexibility. Most importantly, sports massage can help in preventing injuries. Post-event sports massage hastens recovery from sports activity by flushing the muscles of lactic acid and reducing muscular soreness.

Structural Integration
Structural Integration uses a type of massage called Myofascial Release to lengthen fascia (connective tissue) that is causing restriction around specific muscles and/or groups of muscles. By doing so, a person’s posture and structure can be properly aligned. With proper posture, chronic areas of pain can be eased. Your therapist will perform a structural observation and then design a session according to your needs.

Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts during pregnancy, such as backaches, a stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches, edema, and sore, swollen ankles and feet. Pregnancy Massage is a special treat for the mother to be, giving her time to relax and rejuvenate. Pregnancy massage is done on the side, comfortably bolstered between body cushions.

Swedish Massage
The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles. Swedish massage techniques include: long flowing strokes, kneading, and friction. The main purpose of Swedish massage is to promote relaxation, increase the oxygen flow in the blood, and to release toxins from the muscles.

This minimizes stressful tension throughout the connective tissues. Additionally, she is a certified yoga instructor which lends to a deeper awareness of movement and structure. Her intuitive approach integrates years of hands-on experience with soft tissue, energetic and structural techniques which are applied with a detail oriented method. Specialties include deep tissue myofascial release, trigger point therapy, Thai yoga massage techniques and sports massage.
